Kijiji.com - the New CraigsList? More Free Traffic!

Yes it may have a very strange name, but Kijiji.com is a new classified ads website, just like CraigsList. What does that mean for you? More free traffic to your real estate website! One of the best ways to drive free traffic to your website and listings is by using free classified services like CraigsList and Backpage.com, so this just serves as another avenue to get additional free traffic.

Kijiji.com is pretty much just a more colorful version of CraigsList and has already got pretty big in Europe (where CraigsList isn't as big). But there are two major benefits of using Kijiji.com over CraigsList for real estate agents:

Firstly, the main extra benefit to Realtors using this website is that it actually shows photos in each section's results, something that CraigsList doesn't do. Perfect for showing off your new home listing photos! This is the San Diego real estate for sale page, so you can see what I mean: http://sandiego.kijiji.com/f-Housing-Homes-for-sale-W0QQCatIdZ36

Secondly, you can sign up for alerts notifying you of new things of interest to you. This is great for the consumer, and I have always wondered why CraigsList doesn't offer this ability - it means you don't have to keep on visiting the website everyday in hope of finding what you are looking for. In theory, your home listing on there will work harder and be more efficient because of this new feature.

The strange thing is that this new website is a venture by eBay, who actually own 25% of CraigsList. So in essence, they have created their own competitor! Anyway, I recommend going to check your local real estate section on Kijiji.com and posting your listings. It's still relatively new, so get in early for some good results. Good luck!
