Estate Industry :: Online Marketing Articles
On-line
Marketing has to do with advertising your web address
on web sites other than search engines. This is usually
in the form of a simple hyperlink, but can be made as
elaborate as an animated banner flashing your web address
and specials you are offering. The key is to find the
sites relevant to your business that gets the most qualified
traffic. This could be a directory, an on-line newspaper,
the Chamber of Commerce, local information sites, your
mortgage lender's site, and so forth. One of the best
things about adding your web address to other sites is
that it can be free.
Many search engine placement companies throw out stats
that 80-90% of all traffic on the Internet comes from
search engines, but the fine print to understand here
is that while traffic may come from a search engine, people
often reach the sites they are looking for from a link
on another site. For example, let's say someone searched
for realtors in California and Realtor.com came up. They
go to realtor.com and search for realtors in San Diego
and find a San Diego real estate agent and then click
on the link to that realtors web site. The idea here is
that you don't need any search engine placement to get
traffic from them - it is sufficient to be listed on the
directories that are popular on the search engines.

There
are a long list of real estate related web sites that
act as online directories of agents.
