The
first thing to do is to put your web address anywhere
you have your name or phone number, as it is just another
medium in which people can contact you and learn about
your business. Just like your phone number, people need
easy access to your web address. Your web address should
be anywhere that your contact information is. This will
leverage your existing advertising and make your advertising
dollar more effective by reaching a larger audience. Here
are some common places you can have your web address written:

Color your address
to make it stick out.

...if someone
is at work or at home looking in the yellow
pages and has
an Internet connection, they will likely check
out the few
people who have a web address with their ad first -
are you going
to be one of those few?

Increase your
percentage of leads generated by reaching
out to the growing
market of Internet users for mailers like:
Postcards
/ blind mailings
Newsletters
to your client-base
Holiday
cards, calendars, notepads, magnets, pens, etc.

...or anywhere
in the bulk of an email are excellent places
to put your
web address. You are not only targeting people
with an internet
connection, but these people are on the
computer when
they receive your email and simply have to
click on your
address to go directly to your site. If you cannot
program an email
signature, simply integrate it into your
e-mail or write
it at the bottom of e-mails after your name
and/or phone
number. For those using microsoft outlook or
express, simply
go to tools, then options, then signatures
to create your
e-mail signature.
Here are some less obvious ways that you can advertise
your web site:
|
bulk e-mail |
banner ads |
|
classifieds |
affiliate / reseller programs |
|
bulletin boards |
network mktg / joint ventures |
|
news group postings |
press releases |
|
article submissions |
give-away contests |
Obviously, you may already have a number of mailers, business
cards, etc., without your web address and you don't want
to buy new ones. A simple solution is to get stamps, stickers,
or labels, with your web address on it. These can have
the added advantage of being colorful and, therefore,
sticking out as well. |
