Aside
from written advertisements, do not discount word-of-mouth,
as referral business is one of the best and easiest ways
for you to gain new clients. So tell your friends and
family to check out your site and give you some feedback.
Remember that your web address is easier to remember than
a 7 or 10 digit phone number. Here are some common places
to give out your web address verbally:
Someone is calling you with
a question and you're not
available - what better
time is there to send them to your web
site? Use something like
this, "Hello . . . While I can't be
around 24 hours a day, my
web site is at
www.Mywebsite.com for X,
Y, and Z."

Ask them to look at your
site and always ask past clients
for feedback. For one, they
are the best people to tell you
what direction to take
your site in and what the next changes
should be.
Secondly, if they give you
feedback, you know they have
been to your site, understand
what services it offers, and can
refer it to friends - your
clients will remember your web address
long before they'll remember
a 10-digit phone number! You can
even send a mailer to past
clients asking for feedback and do a
lottery for all the people
that give you feedback and send them
tickets for two to some
type of event like a baseball game or
theatrical event.

When clients and prospects call in and ask
questions, send
them to your web site
for a specific reason - the reaason they
called. Say something like, "I
know you have a lot of general
questions about _________, so next
time you have a question,
you can find the answers whenever
you want by going to my
web site at www.MyWebsite.com where
you will find plenty of
information on ___________.

Don't forget to tell co-workers,
and any people you come in
contact with in your business. They may use
it (which is
excellent advertising) or have helpful hints.
