Story
With the advent of the evolution of the Internet, the
founders of Z57.com envisioned the magnitude of business opportunity
that the emergence of the Internet would provide. Opportunities
-- not only for the businesses incorporating the Web into
their businesses, but for the individuals they could inspire
and hire to help them build a company to sell those needed
Web services. With their success would come the success of
their clients, as well as their valued team. They set a common
goal, one of creating opportunity for all.
From 3 local clients to over 5,000 internationally; from 2
to 75 employees; from 400 to 9,000 square feet of office space
-- it has all been accomplished in the first 2 years. This
impressive growth is complemented by the fact that Z57.com
was profitable in its first full month in business and has
projected revenue figures of $2.5 million for 2000 and $5
million for 2001. Additionally, this entrepreneurial-minded
corporation has been entirely self-funded and remains privately
held.
Z57.com's President and CEO,
Steve Weber, has 18 years
of business experience. From 1982-95, as Western Zone Manager with
Vector Marketing Corporation, he built a multi-million dollar sales
organization of 26 offices in five states with over 2,500 sales reps.
The years 1995-96 saw Weber develop the inside sales, training and
sales management programs for Andataco, Inc.,
(now nStor Technologies), a $100 million computer hardware company.
The firm's focus was sales to Fortune 500 companies of high-end
computer systems. In 1996, Weber joined CollegeClub.com to develop and
expand their commercial web site sales division. Under his leadership,
revenues increased by over 700%. As fast as the Internet was evolving
-- so was Weber. In early 1998 he co-founded QuestCom, an Internet
Service Provider that offered web and technology products.
It was during his time at QuestCom that Weber met David
Baird at an entrepreneurial conference and recruited him.
Baird was initially brought on board as an independent sales
rep, but quickly moved into the role of marketing manager.
He assisted in the R&D of product development and helped build
the sales, marketing and training programs for the firm.
